Are you a dynamic leader looking to make a profound impact in a school where children are at the heart of everything? Weeke Primary School is a popular, vibrant and innovative 2-form entry school on the edge of Winchester. Following a recent inspection that suggests we "might be outstanding" if a graded inspection were held today, we are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our Leadership Team as an Assistant Headteacher.

The Role

As a pivotal member of the school’s Leadership Team, you will work alongside the Headteacher to strategically develop SEN(D) policy and provision. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the day-to-day operation of SEN(D) support, including the SEN(D) register and provision maps.

• Providing professional guidance to colleagues on the "graduated approach" and differentiated teaching.

• Coordinating EHCP processes and acting as the primary point of contact for external agencies.

• Line managing and inspiring our team of Learning Support Assistants to ensure high-quality performance.

• Securing excellent outcomes to ensure pupils with SEN(D) remain successful learners.

About You

We are looking for an experienced or aspiring Assistant Headteacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least five years of experience.

• Possesses the NASENCO qualification or has the desire and commitment to undertake it.

• Is an excellent classroom teacher with a proven ability to meet a range of individual needs.

• Has strong professional knowledge of the SEN(D) Code of Practice and relevant legislation.

• Demonstrates sensitivity, integrity, and enthusiasm when working with families and "hard to reach" parents.

• Is a strategic thinker with the personal presence to initiate and manage change.

What We Can Offer You

At Weeke, we care passionately about our staff and offer a nurturing atmosphere with a "village community feel". Benefits include:

• A commitment to your professional development.

• Access to resources, including a dedicated music room, library, and expansive outdoor space.

• A supportive environment where leaders and governors actively consider staff workload and well-being.
