Breakfast Club Supervisor

Job Introduction

We are looking for a member of staff to join our school team as a Breakfast Club Leader.


Role Purpose

To supervise and coordinate the daily operation of the school's Breakfast Club, providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children before school hours. The role involves organising activities, preparing and serving breakfast, and ensuring the wellbeing of all children in attendance.

The role is Monday to Friday 7.30am to 8.45am - Term Time Only.

Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise children attending the Breakfast Club and ensure their safety and wellbeing.
  • Plan and deliver engaging activities suitable for a range of ages.
  • Prepare and serve a healthy breakfast, following hygiene and food safety regulations.
  • Ensure children behave appropriately and follow school rules.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and report any issues to the appropriate staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and school staff.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy environment at the beginning and end of each session.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
  • Administer basic first aid as required and maintain incident records.
  • Monitoring stock levels of food and purchasing food

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable:

  • First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates.
  • Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Childcare).
  • Experience planning and delivering children's activities.
