St Peter’s is a happy, supportive and welcoming primary school in Waterlooville with over 400 children on roll. Our catering team plays a vital part in school life by providing freshly prepared, nutritious and tasty meals every day – and we are looking for someone to join us from November 2025.
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible Catering Assistant who enjoys working as part of a busy, friendly team. If you take pride in your work, enjoy being around children, and like the idea of helping to make lunchtimes a positive and enjoyable part of the day, we would love to hear from you.
Your main duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking meals under the guidance of our Catering Manager.
- Setting up, serving and clearing the dining hall within set timescales.
- Serving meals with a smile, following portion guidelines and meeting dietary requirements.
- Encouraging children to try new foods and gathering feedback to help us improve.
- Washing up, cleaning and maintaining excellent hygiene standards at all times.
- Following health and safety protocols, including temperature checks and records.
- Taking part in training and development to support your role.
- Working hours will be from 11:15am - 1:15pm Monday to Friday.
