Grade B £25,985 FTE (£15,018.84 actual)

25 hours, 39 weeks (Working pattern to be discussed at interview)

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cleaner to join our excellent Site team. You will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety across designated areas of the school. Working both independently and as part of the Site team, you will use your initiative to identify and respond to cleaning needs, helping to create a welcoming and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors. Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential, as relevant training will be provided.

 Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Take pride in maintaining consistently high standards.

Job purpose, including main duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out a range of cleaning duties across the school site, including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and other designated areas, and replenishing consumable supplies.
  • Assist with daily litter picking.
  • Monitor the condition of allocated areas and promptly report maintenance, health and safety, security or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate member of the Site team.
  • Proactively identify cleaning needs within designated areas and take appropriate action, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Respond flexibly to changing priorities, including spillages, unexpected cleaning requirements and school events.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Site Manager and wider Site team regarding priorities, completed work and any issues requiring attention.
  • Undertake additional and periodic deep cleaning across the school site when required.
  • Use cleaning materials, equipment and resources effectively, safely and economically.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies within allocated areas, replenish stock as required and notify the Site Manager of anticipated shortages.
  • Follow the school’s health and safety procedures, including requirements relating to cleaning products, equipment, personal protective equipment and the safe storage of materials.
