Extended Day Assistant

Portway Junior School is a popular and oversubscribed junior school on the edge of Andover. Our most recent Ofsted inspection describes us as a ‘good’ school where children achieve well, take pride in their learning and benefit from an aspirational and well designed curriculum. The report also noted our skilled staff and the strong positive and supportive culture within the school. 

We have an exciting opportunity for an Extended Day Assistant to join our team. The role will be varied, and you will need to be adaptable and flexible.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is able to work as part of a team

  • is flexible and proactive

  • has a good understanding of English and Maths skills

  • understands and respects confidentiality and safeguarding procedures

Experience is not essential, but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Extended Day Assistant - Salary scale C  – term time only (39 weeks per year). 

Hours are as follows (term time only): 


Three Days - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 15:15 to 17:45 (Negotiable)

Actual annual salary £4,380 (full time equivalent of £25,186
