We are looking to appoint a HLTA to join our friendly and hard-working team, due to one of our wonderful HLTAs completing their teacher training.

Well, then Anstey Junior School could be the school for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring HLTA to join our successful and aspirational school to work alongside our friendly and supportive team to secure the best outcomes for all children.
HLTAs will be required to:
- cover staff absence at short notice, so will need to be available to be in school by 8:30am if required. Cover may be for up to 5 consecutive days
- cover planned absences, due to staff going on training
- cover PPA and subject leader release time during the afternoons
- support staff in an identified area of whole school responsibility
You will need to be able to:
- Take responsibility for pupil safety and wellbeing at all times
- Lead the day-to-day routines and regular aspects of classroom management
- Teach from planning provided by class teachers
- Cover the supervisory duties of the absent class teacher
- Deploy any additional classroom adults effectively
- Understand that all behaviour is a form of communication and be able to demonstrate excellent behaviour management strategies
- Be able to model exemplary professional behaviours and communicate the school’s key values to all
- Fulfil our teaching and learning policies
- Support with planning and resourcing of activities
- Commit to ongoing professional learning and development by attending required in-house CPD meetings, this may include some additional hours and travel
- Alongside a curriculum leader or line manager, help to develop an area of whole school responsibility. It is expected that you would work on this when there are periods of time when you have not been required to do any cover.
You will be:
- A trained HLTA and have a secure subject knowledge of primary education
- Organised and reliable
- Have an excellent attendance record
- Good team player
- Positive and enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Flexible and able to cope with situations changing at the last minute
- Good communicator with pupils, parents and staff
- Passionate about ensuring children have the best learning opportunities through good quality first teaching
