HIGHER LEVEL TEACHER ASSISTANT

We are looking to appoint a dedicated, organised and enthusiastic and Higher Level Learning Support Assistant to join our caring, successful and friendly school. The successful candidate will be a trained, creative and aspirational practitioner with a proven track record of having a passion for teaching and learning.

You will be working with friendly and enthusiastic children who have a love for learning alongside a supportive teaching team.
Position Details:
- Hours of work: 31.5 hours per hours per week, 8.30 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday, term time only, with 0.5 hr unpaid lunch break 3 days/week and 1.0 hr unpaid lunch break 2/days a week.
- Permanent contract, term time only
- Salary details: Grade D (£27,780 - £30,564 full time equivalent, dependant on experience)
Duties will include:
- Whole class teaching – to cover teachers, implement lesson plans, manage pupil behaviour and support teaching and learning across the school.
- Covering planned staff absences for training and other circumstances, as well as PPA
- Interventions to support teaching and learning,
- Covering the supervisory duties of the absent class teacher
- Being able to direct any additional classroom staff effectively
- Being flexible across the primary age range. When not teaching, you will be expected to work throughout the school, potentially focusing on supporting individual pupils or supporting a class teacher to deliver the national curriculum.
- Being fully committed to the ethos of the school
- A good communicator who is able to demonstrate high professional standards and model behaviours.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds an HLTA qualification or equivalent.
- Is an experienced learning support assistant
- Is committed to high quality teaching and learning and to their own professional development; this would include professional training as required.
- Is a fun team player with a positive mind set
- Has the ability to maintain children’s interest, enthusiasm and motivation for learning
- Has a strong commitment to ensure effective behaviours for learning are maintained and be confident in managing whole classes, small groups and one to one support.
- Is positive, clam and caring and able to sensitively support and challenge children.
- Is able to demonstrate high expectations
- Is an excellent communicator with pupils, parents and staff.
