KS2 Learning Support Assistant

Job Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and caring person who is hard-working, dedicated and keen to go the extra mile for the children of our school to support children with specific learning needs including children with social and emotional needs, and to be part of the team.   The position will involve supporting classes, groups and individual pupils, as well as assisting with assessment and reviewing pupil progress in and out of class.

We are looking for someone who has:   

• A willingness to support our values of Love, Grace and Respect
• Proven skills and successful experience of promoting inclusion for all children 
• Empathy and enthusiasm to support children with additional needs
• An understanding of the power of relationships
• Good communication skills and an understanding of the impact of language used
• The skills to show initiative, quick-thinking, calm under pressure, determined and resilient.
• Professionally discreet, understand confidentiality and safeguarding procedures.
• Previous experience of working in a school or supporting children with additional needs including children with social, emotional and mental health needs. 
• A ‘can do’ attitude with bags of energy – happy to do ‘whatever it takes’ to support our pupils
• English and maths to GCSE level, grade C or above (or equivalent)
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or qualified by experience
