Are you ready to be part of something unique?

Under new leadership and embarking on an exciting journey of transformation, Sherborne St John C of E Primary is looking for an inspiring KS2 teacher to join our team. We are a progressive, inclusive and welcoming small school that believes in high standards and expectations - for our pupils and ourselves.

We are building a setting that blends our traditional village feel with a forward-thinking, modern approach to education. If you are a teacher who thrives on innovation and wants to help shape the identity of a school on the move, we want to hear from you.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • An outstanding and reflective classroom practitioner, passionate about creating a unique and inclusive learning environment.
  • Able to inspire children, understand their individual needs and empower each child to excel through a challenging and motivating curriculum.
  • A forward-thinking educator who values a progressive approach to the KS2 curriculum.
  • A strong team player, resilient and relentless in the pursuit of excellence.
  • Fully committed to ensuring that all children achieve high standards and discover their own unique brilliance, with a proven track record of making this happen.
  • A calm, positive and effective communicator who can build warm, professional relationships with staff, pupils, parents and governors.
  • Well-organised, with the ability to prioritise and manage their workload efficiently.
  • Able to demonstrate high expectations of pupil behaviour through a positive, relational approach.
  • Equipped with a good sense of humour and a flexible approach to school life.

In return, we can offer:

  • A highly supportive staff team, including dedicated support staff who are central to our success.
  • A genuine focus on your professional development (CPD) with a clear pathway to future leadership if you wish.
  • The opportunity to lead a core subject (Maths) and make a measurable impact on school improvement.
  • PPA time off site
  • A welcoming, inclusive atmosphere where your well-being and career aspirations are valued.
  • The chance to be part of a "journey" school, where you can help define our unique identity.
  • Highly motivated and well-behaved children.

It is important to us that we employ the right fit for our school. We would be willing to accept a 0.8 fte contract for the right candidate.
