Muddy Boots, Big Ideas, and Green Hearts: Join the Longparish Family
If you believe that teaching should be full of awe, wonder, and perhaps a bit of mud on the boots, then Longparish might just be the place for you. We are looking for an inspiring KS1 teacher to join our enthusiastic "family" and lead a mixed-year class where curiosity is nurtured and every child is encouraged to be bold.
As a Church of England school, we live by the Golden Rule—treating others as we wish to be treated. This principle sits at the heart of our core Christian values of Creativity, Courage, and Grace. We aren’t just looking for a teacher; we are looking for a storyteller, an explorer, and a champion who helps our children live up to the expectation of "being the best me I can be" [Ofsted 2025].
Our KS1 setting thrives on a continuous provision model because we believe children learn best when they are getting stuck in. Ofsted recently recognised the "palpable sense of purpose and infectious enthusiasm for learning" created by our high-quality blend of skilful teaching. Our research-driven curriculum focuses on small-group work and deliberate retrieval tasks, as we want someone who understands that "sticky learning" happens when children have frequent, creative opportunities to apply their skills independently. Whether it’s nurturing our "book butterflies" through a passion for reading or driving notable improvements in writing, you will be empowering children to take real ownership of their journey.
We are a school on a bold mission to become one of the most sustainable schools in Hampshire. Our pupils appreciate how lucky they are to learn and play in such an "idyllic setting," and we weave big ideas like "climate and sustainability" into everything we do. From spotting wildlife at our new "River House" to exploring local and global issues, we want our learners to take accountability for their planet. If you have a passion for the environment and a desire to see children grow into active, compassionate citizens, you will fit right in.
At Longparish, no one is just a number. We have worked hard to create a nurturing, restorative community where every child—and every staff member—feels truly seen and supported, resulting in exemplary behaviour as recognised by Ofsted April 2025. We are just as committed to your growth as we are to our pupils, offering meaningful professional development and ensuring we keep a watchful eye on staff well-being. You will join a brilliantly dedicated team that brings energy, vision, and a touch of magic to our calm and purposeful classrooms.
We treasure the partnership we have with our parents and our wider village community. If you are ready to help our pupils "leap into Longparish" and lead our Mixed Year 1/2 class with passion, we would love for you to join us on this next chapter of our journey.
As the successful candidate, you will be warmly embraced by a strong teaching and leadership team in our thriving village primary school. At our school, we understand the importance of work-life balance and make staff well-being a top priority. We actively listen to our teachers and adjust our practices accordingly, fostering a positive and supportive work environment where happiness is paramount. (‘Staff, and in turn pupils, benefit from well-considered, professional development opportunities and the watchful eye that is kept on their well-being.’ OFSTED report April 2025)
Visits to the school are encouraged, please contact Mrs Christine Leach at c.leach@longparish.hants.sch.uk, telephone 01264 720317 for further information and to arrange a visit.
