Excellent verbal communication skills are essential, as you will inspire a love of learning, nurture individual talents and help children make strong academic progress.
A key aspect of this role involves supporting children with additional needs. You will need to be patient, calm under pressure and able to respond sensitively to a range of situations. Strong active listening skills are essential in order to understand each child’s individual needs and to help create a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment where all children can succeed.
Experience of working with children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 is desirable. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are required, as you will support learning alongside the class teacher.
