Job Introduction
These posts afford the successful candidate the opportunity to work in the only special school federation in Hampshire. Our two schools, situated next door to each other, cater for the full age range and a wide breadth of needs, including moderate, severe and profound learning difficulties.
Due to a school expansion, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude, who will have a commitment and passion to work with pupils with a wide and diverse range of SEN.
Our strapline is, ‘a family of learning’ and we are committed as a community to have our wonderful pupils and students at the heart of our federation. We offer a fun, stimulating and creative environment in which all individuals are valued for their contribution, and we strive for our pupils and students to be as independent as they can be.
We are looking for practitioners who:
- have excellent interpersonal skills;
- have a calm and consistent approach;
- are able to motivate and inspire children’s learning;
- are flexible and creative, and willing to adapt the learning environment;
- can follow specific educational programmes;
- can work under own initiative where necessary;
- have a sympathetic understanding of children’s emotional needs; and
- will support children with personal care.
Relevant qualifications or experience with children with learning difficulties is desirable, however full training will be provided.
