Learning Support Assistant x 3

Job Introduction

ROLE 1 - 08:30 to 12:30 Mon to Fri (20 hours per week) - Minimum £11,644 pa pro rata.

ROLE 2 - 12:30 to 15:15 Mon to Fri (13.75 hours per week) - Minimum £8,005 pa pro rata.

ROLE 3 - 08:30 to 13:00 Mon to Fri (22.50 hours per week) - Minimum £13,100 pa pro rata.

All roles are fixed term contract - term time only.


 North Farnborough Infant School is seeking enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team. Working closely with the class teacher, parents, outside agencies and our SENDCo, you will play an important role in supporting our children to become confident, happy and independent life‑long learners.

 

In this role, you will provide support to pupils with specific special educational needs as well as to groups of learners within the classroom. You will help to create an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child feels valued and supported to thrive.

 

The position also includes lunchtime play responsibilities, where you will help to supervise and engage children in positive, active play. This part of the role is essential in promoting social development, wellbeing, and safe, enjoyable lunchtimes for all pupils.

 

We are looking for committed individuals who enjoy working with young children, can build warm and supportive relationships, and are ready to contribute to the vibrant life of our school community.

 

We are looking for someone who:-

  • has a caring, nurturing and highly inclusive approach for every child
  • has high expectations and a true belief that all children can progress well
  • is a strong team player who embraces our values, ethos and overall vision 
  • has experience of working with Early Years / KS1 children
  • shows resilience and determination to support children to overcome potential barriers to learning
  • has GCSE English and Maths, NVQ2 or equivalent as a minimum requirement
  • has a cheerful disposition, positive outlook and a good sense of humour. 

 

The successful candidate will be expected to: 

  • work with an individual child as well as groups of children to support their learning and development
  • demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
  • show a flexible and adaptable approach to presenting and modelling learning
  • support the team in reviewing the progress of pupils
  • contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
  • offer a fair and consistent approach to managing behaviour and individual needs in line with school policies and procedures
  • prepare and organise resources
  • communicate regularly with parents and with wider agencies.
