Job/Person Summary

We are seeking to appoint an excellent, committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant, who is able to support and contribute to our high expectations of learning and behaviour. Learning Support Assistants at Weeke are highly valued and play a key role in ensuring our children’s success. You will work under the guidance and planning of the class teacher and SENCO often supporting a child in a 1:1 capacity but also working within the classroom and with small groups.
This role includes a 1-hour role of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, where you will support our children in the dining hall and outside. There is also the option to work in our wrap around care provision as part of our after school club team.
We are looking for someone to start in September 2026.
The successful candidate will:
Enthuse and inspire children to learn
Be committed to working with children, responding to their needs intuitively and sensitively
Have high expectations and a calm, positive attitude
Be an excellent team player and be able to work independently and with initiative
Be prepared to share expertise and learn from others
Be professional, organised, patient and understanding
Have GCSE Grade C English and maths or equivalent
Understand confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
Essential requirements for this post include:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to relate well to children, parents and staff
Experience in early years is advantageous but not essential.
