OFFICE AND HR MANAGER

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (8.00 to 3.30 + ½ hour lunch break)
40 weeks per year – term time plus one additional week - 45.62 paid weeks per year (some flexibility may be considered)
Salary: £23,053.08 (FTE £27,780) – Grade D, Step 1
Responsible To: Business Manager
Role purpose: To lead, manage and work as part of the administration team to support the Senior Leadership and school in overseeing and co-ordinating the recruitment, HR and school administration processes in line with Hampshire County Council (HCC) and the school’s policy. Workload management for team when appropriate, assessing priorities to meet deadlines.
Glenwood is a special school for children experiencing complex needs associated with learning difficulties both moderate and severe, including children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. The school works with pupils from years 7 to 11 (KS3 and KS4) who have a range of learning, communication and health needs, therefore a passion to work and succeed in this environment is essential.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a vacancy within our school for an Office and HR manager to lead and manage our admin team due to staff retirement.
A flair for administration and keen attention to detail are essential to fulfil the role, along with a friendly, approachable and professional manner, as the role includes regular interaction with staff, pupils, parents/carers, HCC Education Personnel Services and other external organisations.

It will also be a customer-facing post and can involve reception duties and a variety of administrative tasks with the main areas being focussed on HR, staff recruitment, administrative procedures with line management responsibility. There could be progression opportunities for the right person.
At Glenwood we are a supportive team and enjoy an environment where no two days are the same. Ideally you will be an experienced administrator with some working knowledge in a school setting, HR and of school-based systems. This is advantageous but not essential as training will be available.
