Main duties and responsible for:

 

We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist to join our busy College. First point of contact for visitors, parents, students and staff who will pay a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient front office. 

Working time:

 

25.75 hours per week, across 5 days ~ 39 weeks per year

Mon, Tue and Weds 12:45 – 4.30 pm

Thursday 8:15 – 4 pm,     Friday 8:15 – 4.30pm (Thursday and Friday includes a 30-minute unpaid break)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Salary/grade:

 

£25,186 fte (pay award pending)

£15,033 pro rata

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Greet and assist visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and respond to email enquiries.
  • Manage the school's reception area and visitor sign-in procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to staff as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and update school databases.as appropriate
  • Handle incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work.
  • Previous reception or administrative experience (school experience is desirable but not essential).

The college had its latest Ofsted inspection in December 2023. The college was judged to be a strongly “Good” school. The report validated our own assessment of the college – there were no surprises! It described Wyvern well:
