SNA and lunchtime supervisor

Hook Infant School is a four-form entry school and we are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and committed individual to support some of our pupils on a 1:1 basis, with additional responsibility for lunchtime supervision.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Has a calm, nurturing approach, with the confidence to be appropriately assertive when required
  • Can use their own initiative and respond flexibly to unforeseen situations
  • Is able to implement a daily structured routine under the guidance of the class teacher and SENDCo
  • Can deliver planned interventions to support independence, sensory needs, language development and social skills
  • Enjoys working with young children
  • Is patient, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Lunchtime responsibilities include:

  • Supervising pupils in the dining hall and on the playground
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and safe play
  • Supporting pupils’ wellbeing during lunch breaks
  • Ensuring school policies and procedures are followed at all times

Hook Infant School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
