Senior Administration and Finance Officer

Job Start Date: January 2025 or as soon as possible after interview

Contract/Hours: Permanent, Full-time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week (8am – 4.30pm), 41 weeks of the year (term time, plus 2 weeks)

There may be some flexibility available for the right candidate.

Job/Person Summary

St Faith’s is a small school on the outskirts of Winchester, with a wonderfully warm sense of community.  We are looking to recruit an organised, supportive individual as our Senior Administrative and Finance Officer, to be a part of our friendly team.  We are looking for an exceptional candidate, who can effectively manage the financial and administrative elements of school life and contribute positively to our staff team.

The successful candidate will need to be:

  • First-aid qualified, or prepared to be first-aid trained

Main responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Headteacher in the preparation, management and monitoring of the school budget
  • Preparing regular financial reports for the Headteacher and governors
  • Effectively managing and maintaining day-to-day financial systems within the school
  • Being a member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Auditing and reporting school accounts, including reconciliation and budget forecast regularly to senior leadership team and governors
  • Administration of the schools’ health and safety procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Managing admissions to the school
  • Supporting human resource management
  • Overseeing Data Protection procedure
  • Attending meetings of the governing body
  • Working alongside site personnel to manage the school site and building maintenance
  • Providing effective hospitality and reception service for visitors to the school
