Padnell Junior School is seeking a proactive and reliable Site Manager to join our supportive staff team. This vital role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day running and maintenance of our school site, helping to create a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Our vacancy is for 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working 44 weeks per year (working 3 weeks during Summer holidays, 1 week during Easter holidays and 1 week dependent on needs of the school). Salary Grade D (£23,547 - £25,907), dependent on experience.
The core hours (during term time) are from 6.45am to 10am and 2.45pm to 6pm.
This position would suit:
- One person working 32.5 hours as split shifts shown above; or
- Two people – one person working the morning shift and one the afternoon shift shown above
During school holidays, working hours can be altered, by agreement with the Headteacher, to suit completion of periodic cleaning and maintenance tasks/projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a wide range of repairs, maintenance, and decoration tasks across the school site
- Ensure the highest standards of health and safety are consistently maintained
- Unlocking and locking up of the school buildings
- Act as principle key holder, attending call outs/emergencies
- Organise and maintain the school’s large external grounds in collaboration with external support services
- Work flexibly and independently to meet the evolving needs of the school
- Communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and contractors
- Lone working responsibilities with a strong focus on safety and organisation
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Full clean driving licence
- Proven ability to work flexibly and independently
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in undertaking repairs, maintenance, and decoration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- MIDAS qualification
