Hours of work: Position 1: 20 hours a week; Position 2: 15 hours a week. Candidates can apply for both positions.

Job/Person Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring teaching assistant to join our established team to work with a specific child. The successful post holder will work within and outside of the classroom, offering a varied programme of support. Previous experience of working with children diagnosed with autism and/ or who are non- verbal is desirable however training can be made available if required.
The successful candidate will:
- Work with the child within and outside of the classroom environment to support their learning and development
- Be committed to enabling children to make progress
- Be patient, calm and caring
- Be flexible, proactive and resourceful
- Understand the importance of play in a child’s learning and development
- Work as part of a team
- Contribute to evaluation, review and planning discussions with the teacher, SENCO and other members of the support team
- Prepare and organise resources
- Be willing to undertake training to gain further skills
- Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding practices and confidentiality
