Teaching Assistant

Job Introduction

Are you looking to make a difference to help children succeed?  We are looking for an enthusiastic, patient, caring and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and experienced Support Team. Predominately, the role will be to provide support for children, both within the classroom and through 1:1 and targeted small group interventions. Lunchtimes will involve a half hour lunch duty in the school’s lunchtime club, supporting children to develop their social and emotional skills.

 We are looking for someone who:

  •  Has experience (or a keen interest) in supporting children with additional needs; particularly needs identified as social, emotional and mental health 
  • Is flexible, reliable, and committed to helping children achieve their best
  • Can adapt learning to ensure a child is able to engage in activities alongside their peers
  • Demonstrates high expectations of behaviour and supports our positive behaviour approach
  • Works effectively as part of a team but can also use their initiative
  • Communicates clearly and compassionately with children and adults
  • Is patient, nurturing and understands the importance of building positive relationships

Maths and English GCSE or equivalent is essential.  An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in School is desirable.
